About the Artist
My work with clay began as a serious hobby in the mid-70s when I discovered a love of making and using functional pottery. I was taught by my mother to draw and use watercolor as a young child and this influence can be seen in some of the designs I employ today on my pottery. After not being able to take a pottery class as an elective while studying engineering at Cornell University, I realized my ambition by taking classes and attending workshops when I moved to California in 1974. In 2001, my hobby became a full time activity when I left the corporate world and entered the world of juried art fairs and open studio tours.
In 2010 I moved to Tucson, where I now create a variety of functional ware strongly influenced by classic forms in my home studio surrounded by the beauty of the Sonoran desert. I take pride in making pottery that is well balanced and pleasing to the eye and touch. . My handcrafted pottery is lovingly created and designed to function beautifully in your home.
As an artist, I get a great deal of satisfaction from creating pieces that people love to use.
