About the Artist
I have always been fascinated by the strength and fragility of paper as shown here in Fragile Strength, (Best of Show, Autumn Exhibit, Bear Gallery Fairbanks, AK 2001.)
My BFA exhibit in 2000 consisted of some paintings and many collages where i gathered papers and added paint to create not only the images but the story line behind them. This images shows the works in process.
This image was my historical turning point of working on paper with paper and paint. I really began to push my own envelope by pushing against some art rules. I mixed drawing with color and let the process begin to make its own statements. This continues today as I explore collage with my own photos and cutting papers in various forms.
