About the Artist
Julia Gousseva was born in Moscow, Russia, but now lives in Tucson. She is a teacher, a creative writer, and an artist. She loves the desert and the bright colors of Arizona sunsets, and her oil paintings reflects that. At the same time, Julia likes the vibrant colors of the short Russian fall and the romance of the autumn rain. Umbrellas, rainy parks, and changing leaves is another theme of her work. She also likes to experiment and paint other themes, such as ocean scenes, funny cartoon-like characters, winter forest scenes, and festive Christmas scenes, among others.
