About the Artist
Each sculpture is a work of art that can change and set the mood of the environment where it is placed. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jon Watson studied art at the Art Institute of Atlanta. After a career in advertising and design, Jon began exploring his artistic ideas in metal. He has done several public art works around the Tucson area, has shown in selected exhibitions throughout the country and is included in private collections throughout the United States and internationally.
About the Process
My designs are original images that are inspired, but not copied from Petroglyphs all over the world, but have a Southwest influence. My pieces are bent and formed so that they are not flat cutout like many metal artists. I use traditional metalworking techniques of cutting, bending, grinding, welding & rusting are used. Many pieces are decorated with turquoise and hand done enamel by my wife and business partner. I have a variety of price ranges which are affordable to the area.
