Janny Taylor, award winning and internationally shown artist who comes to us from New York City, paints that which captures her imagination. She simply sits…listens…waits. And in the quiet, the stillness, she “hears.” The imagination is captured. An expressive impulse surfaces. Creativity transpires.
Description of Medium
Currently, Taylor is working on a series of portraits of female artists who were known to be severely depressed and/or diagnosed with a variety of mentally illnesses; who were (often erroneously) institutionalized. Taylor primarily works in gouache and other water mediums, doing her absolute best to portray and extract the deepest sets of feelings that she imagines these artists may have felt. She invites you to explore the plight of these female artists with her at her studio.
