Artist Bio

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Jacqueline Chanda is now a full time artist living in Tucson, Arizona. She completed her undergraduate work in painting and drawing at UCLA and her graduate studies in Paris, France at the National School of Art, The Académie de Port Royal and the Sorbonne University.

Description of Medium

Jacqueline Chanda is a representational oil painter who paints most any subject matter. However, she is most interested in contemporary figurative work that emphasizes everyday occurrences. She uses painterly, loose brush stokes and cropped compositions to create a natural, dynamic, or authentic environment to capture moments in time.
