About the Artist
My life’s journey, ever shifting, has always been full of unexpected surprises – traveling, speaking, writing, teaching. After 30 years focused on that work, I decided it was time to step away and let what I had always loved, but never had time for, draw me into a new set of experiences. Photography, painting, drawing, jewelry, weaving, and writing poetry and stories were always waiting for more of my attention than I was able to give. Most recently, I’ve been drawn to the medium of pastels.
I find myself wanting to really see and feel what is immediately around me, to represent the place where my feet currently touch the ground – a cow from whose milk I make cheese, chickens playing in the yard, nearby lakes where I venture to kayak, horses out on the trail, vegetables growing in the garden…. I only hope to tell just a bit of their stories. I currently live in Catalina, Arizona with my family and a myriad of creatures, both wild and domestic.
