Artist Bio

i have been making art full time for the past twenty years. as a contemporary artist living and working in tucson, az, my work deals primarily with themes of cultural identity, language, and the notion of always looking for a place to belong to, and to call home. my studio practice involves painting, sculpture, photography, and my work outside of the studio involves conceptual art, land art, and street art.

Description of Medium

my artwork since moving to the borderlands in 2011 deals with migration across the us-mexico border, and the search for whatever remains of the "american dream". by combining abandoned migrant materials such as tin cans with traditional fine art materials i attempt to give voice to those who make their way silently across the desert. my work, mostly abstract, is partly-told tales of suffering, courage, tragedy, and broken dreams.
